Twice as nice?
Rumours of a Nexus Two have been around for a few weeks but there are now reports that someone has actually handled one and it's based on Samsung's Galaxy S handset.
The popular smartphone has apparently been pimped with a front facing camera, adding to rumours that Google is working on building video chat into Gingerbread, according to Gizmodo.
An anonymous source told the website: "When I first saw it from 10 feet away, I thought it was the Galaxy S. I was a little surprised it was the Nexus Two, because it's so different from the Nexus One."
Fans of the first handset, based on HTC's Desire originally marvelled at how different the handset was with new functionality and great build quality but this offering looks more like a refresh of the Samsung Galaxy S. It is also not clear what the aim is behind the phone- perhaps to show off Gingerbread?
Gizmodo's source said the handset is black, shiny and made of glossy plastic, with what is believed to be a 4 inch Amoled screen with ‘concaved' front. He reportedly said, while it has a curve to it and feels slightly thinner than Samsung's current handset, "It feels really similar to the Galaxy S in a lot ways."
While the most obvious difference is believed to the inclusion of a front-facing camera, there are no reports about whether the phone is radically different inside and includes new Gingerbread features.
Here is an approximate mock-up of the rumoured handset by Gizmodo.
