Nokia has started shipping its second Symbian^3 smartphone, the Nokia C7, hot on the heels of its entertainment-loaded N8.
The C7 is designed to be a fashionable offering for keen social networkers, with a sleek stainless steel design, 3.5 inch Amoled display plus rolling networking updates on the home page and one touch access to email accounts.
Nokia has also launched a competition to find itsmost active Facebook users from more than 1.4m fans on its own Facebook page.
It will pick 5 finalists who will each be given a C7 to organise a party using different social networking tools, the winner being the person who best captures their bash through Facebook and generates the most coverage. The winner will bag a phone for themselves plus a handset for 20 of their friends.
Nokia said the C7 will retail for €335 on a pay as you go basis.
Jo Harlow, head of smartphones at Nokia, said: "The Nokia C7 is our second smartphone based on the new version of Symbian to hit the market. Designed specifically with the style-conscious consumer in mind, the Nokia C7 also brings excellent social networking abilities, making it perfect for people who want to check-in and stay up to date."
