Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 is a much more controlled platform than previous versions of Windows Mobile, so a lot of the mystery surrounding the nature of future handsets has already been resolved.

We know, for example, that the four big OEMs will be HTC, Samsung, LG and Sony Ericsson. We also know that they will run Qualcomm chips - most probably Snapdragons. So the purported specs of HTC's upcoming WP7 phone - the Mozart - leaked to wmpoweruser.com make pretty familiar reading.

The chip itself, if accurate, is actually a bit of a disappointment. It's a QSD8250 - the original Snapdragon that was first launched back in 2007. This would be especially disappointing from HTC as its most recently launched handsets contain two newer Snapdragons: the MSM7230 and MSM8255, which feature the newer Adreno 205 graphics core. Perhaps there are Microsoft-defined reasons why it's got to be Snapdragon mark 1.

Other key specs include: a 3.7-inch WVGA Super LCD display, an 8MP CMOS camera with Xenon flash and 8GB storage. The site also produced the vid of the device below and referred to another vid originally written about by mobilitydigest.com, claiming to show what the adaptation of the HTC Sense UI will look like on WP7, also embedded below.
