Alphabet soup
As Google Instant's predictive search function gives users suggestions after typing just one letter, we've put together a Google alphabet and gathered some trivia.
In what will undoubtedly be the Holy Grail for SEO experts we have found the top result for every letter of the alphabet and discovered that every top hit is a brand with the exception of ‘w'...proving Brits are obsessed with the weather.
Without further ado here is the new Google Instant alphabet for the UK listing the top three results for each single letter plus a few extras.
- A- Argos, Amazon, Asda (Apple is 8th)
- B- The BBC grabs all top 3 results : BBC, BBC News and BBC Weather
- C- Currys, Comet, CBBC and bizarrely later on Club Penguin.
- D- Debenhams, Daily Mail, DVLA
- E- Ebay, Easyjet, Expedia (and Eastenders made it into the top 10)
- F- Facebook, Facebook Login, Friv
- G- Google Maps, Gmail, Gumtree (Google dominates 5/10 top results)
- H- Hotmail, HSBC, Homebase
- I- Ikea, Itv, iPlayer (and 3 Apple products in the top 10)
- J- John Lewis, Job Centre Plus, Jane Norman
- K- KLM, KFC, Kwikfit
- L- Lotto, Lloyds TSB, lottery results
- M- MSN, maps, Matalan
- N- Next, New Look, Natwest
- O- O2, Orange, Odeon
- P- Paypal, PC World, Play
- Q- Quidco, QVC, quiz
- R- Rightmove, Ryanair, River Island (but MMO Runescape made the top 10)

- V- Vodafone, Virgin Media, Virgin (Branson snapped up half of the top 10 results)

- Y- YouTube, Yahoo, Yahoo Mail
- Z- Zara, Zupla, Zumba (the last one is a dance class in case you were wondering)
