This week's HEXUS.sharewatch comes a day later than usual due to a bank holiday here in the UK. Over the past eight days our stocks have continued to decline, but a lot of that decline seems to have come yesterday, as some new data reinforced fears that the US may be looking at a double-dip recession.
Maybe that's one of the reasons UK chip designer ARM was the only stock to buck that trend in the past week - it's not American.
ARM's also not really exposed to the PC sector, which is widely predicted to be on the cusp of a bit of a down-turn. PC chip companies AMD and Intel both continued sustained falls in their share prices last week and the news that Intel is buying its way into competing better with the ARM ecosystem has done nothing to appease investors.
Any investors who took a punt on ARM shares at the start of 2009 must be feeling pretty pleased with themselves right now - their investment is now worth five times more.
