Apple has removed videos showing its competitors' phones losing reception from its dedicated iPhone 4 antenna page.

The firm had reportedly set up its antenna page to show it had put an enormous amount of effort into testing its phones, but had also added ‘death grip' videos of a number of its rivals' phones, according to unofficial apple blog, Apple Insider.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs angered competitors when he said at Apple's impromptu press conference that the iPhone's competitors also struggle with the ‘death grip' issue, with BlackBerry manufacturer RIM branding Jobs' attempt to draw it into its ‘self-made debacle, unacceptable.'

Various companies argued their phones did not have similar problems to the iPhone 4, yet videos posted by Apple on the website seemed to suggest otherwise, with different handsets losing reception when held.

Competitors will be pleased videos of RIM's BlackBerry Bold 9700, Motorola's Droid X, HTC's Droid Eris, Nokia's N97 and Samsung's Windows Mobile Omnia II have reportedly been taken down from the site. However, Apple has reportedly not removed them from its YouTube channel.

The antenna page now solely features a video of Apple's testing labs, which the company has reportedly ploughed more than $100m into.  It is said to feature 17 different chambers to measure wireless performance.

its amazing that they still don't have to fix the issue.

or admit putting a live antenna that could be so easily due tuned in a prominent place was a tard like mistake.

even a bigger cap, using the corner might have been enough to stop this….
People of the jury.

I accept that I may have murdered a person (or possibly two), but here's a picture of Stalin. He murdered millions.

So really, in the great scheme of things, I don't think I did much wrong, and you should stop getting so caught up over it.

I rest my case.

Said it before and will say it again - the test Apple did wasn't holding the phones…its squeezing the freaking life out of them (you can tell by the pressure against the guys thumb!). My brother has an iphone 4…i held it very lightly in my hand…like i hold my own phone…and shockingly…signal dropped to nothing.

Keep digging Apple…
iPhone 4 was field-tested in nearly every possible coverage scenario across different vendor and carrier equipment all over the world.

Since when did leaving your top secret prototype phone in a bar after a piss up become field-testing?
