HEXUS.sharewatch: Apple, ARM and Google buck downward trend

We've had two weeks since our last HEXUS.sharewatch, thanks to the Spring bank holiday, and so we've got a longer perspective over the fluctuations in the prices of our chose tech stocks.

There's been a fair bit of fluctuation in the markets since then, once more mainly down to jitters surrounding how the Euro-zone is going to cope with the prospect of countries like Greece defaulting on their national debts.

But on the tech side of things, we've not only had Computex in that period, but an action-packed Google developer conference. Furthermore Apple is starting its WWDC today. What do these three events have in common? An emphasis on mobile devices. Google I/O was all about Andriod, Computex about tablets and WWDC will be about the latest iPhone.

It's telling, therefore, that among all the falls, Apple, Google and ARM have all seen significant rises in their share prices. As Android goes from strength to strength, ARM has moved to ensure its instruction set is optimised for the OS. Meanwhile, as the Apple iPad continues to sell quicker than Apple can make them, it serves as a strong endorsement of Apple's ARM-based A4 chip.
