Meet the gang

As you will already know, Google announced the launch of Google TV at its I/O developer conference yesterday. In the initial announcement and video clip details were thin on the ground, but now Google has started to release clips of the keynote and demonstration, which we've embedded below for your convenience.

The final, long clip features Google CEO Eric Schmidt inviting a dream team of tech industry heavyweights onto the stage to talk about their contribution to Google TV. The sight of Intel CEO Paul Otellini, Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen all publicly chumming up to Google must be alarming to Google rivals Apple and Microsoft, not to mention the ARM ecosystem, which would consider its chips ideal for such embedded applications.

Between the intro and the love-in are a few clips demonstrating some of the features of Google TV. They include the ability to share content between phones and the TV, the ability to use Android apps on the TV and a new YouTube site called YouTube Leanback, that's designed to start automatically start playing personalised content from YouTube as soon as you turn your Google TV on.

So… we will be able to plug our Sky + HD boxes in to the Logitech box.
From there the logitech box will sync with the Sky + box and you can use the Sky guide as usual but also flick over to web and android apps??

Sounds brilliant!!!
