Back to business

One of the major themes at the start of last week's CES was the love affair between Lenovo and Qualcomm, as manifested in the launch of three new Lenovo products all running on Qualcomm's Snapdragon low power chip.

Well it looks like the job-lot of chips Lenovo must have bought has finally run out, because Lenovo has had to revert back to good old business PCs after all the excitement last week, in the forms od the ThinkCentre M90 and M90p.

These are being called performance desktops for large business and run on the 2010 versions of Intel's Core vPro processors, which essentially means Core i5 and Core i7 processors with special business capabilities, such as remote management.

Of course, there are also plenty of Lenovo business-specific goodies, such as:

  • Remote Power Management
  • Added Flexibility and Scalability - Remote storage-based solutions.
  • Advanced Remote PC Fleet Management
  • Lenovo Enhanced Experience for Windows 7 - Quicker boot and shut-down, multitouch.
  • Enhanced PC Fleet Security Tools

The new business desktops will be available in three different form factors from next month. Lenovo hasn't specified pricing.
