A can of worms
A short, vague blog post from Google on Saturday seems to have opened the floodgates to a torrent on news, images and speculation about the first Google-branded phone.
On Saturday, Mario Queiroz, a product management VP, said on the Google mobile blog that Google has distributed an Android device to employees across the world to function as a "mobile lab" and enable them to test new products.
Then, yesterday, a Twitterer named Cory O'Brien tweeted: "Playing with the new Google phone:" and linked to the picture shown below.
He seemed unprepared for the amount of attention his tweet would attract, subsequently tweeting: "Hello new Twitter followers! I guess my Google Phone photo was a hit, eh? Just fired up Twitter for the first time since last night, and... have literally 100s of RTs and questions to go through, so I'll try to answer what I can."
