That's just showing off

Dell has launched its new luxury business laptop - the Latitude Z - which seems to target the high-powered professional and is the business equivalent of the Adamo.

The Latitude Z features a bunch of novel pieces of technology, but most initially eye-catching of them is a wireless dock that uses induction to charge the laptop.

On top of that, it has things like EdgeTouch, which allows users to interact with some applications and media controls through a touch interface on the bezel its screen, as well as a touch screen and a document scanner built into the screen.

There's also face recognition technology that locks out users it doesn't recognise and Latitude ON, which uses a sub-processor and OS to allow instant access to email and the web.

"Dell is introducing ground-breaking innovations that mark many industry firsts," said Steve Lalla, VP and GM of the business client product group at Dell. "We're delivering robust solutions to solve real customer needs. We are committed to our core business and expanding our product line to meet the needs of our customers when they are ready to refresh or add to their existing infrastructure."

The Latitude Z is available now and its price starts at £1,319, but as we're sure you can imagine, it can soon climb well above that if you want all the bells and whistles. Here's a photo, go to the next page for more and the specs.
