Exciting times

The long awaited launch of Intel's new ‘Lynnfield' Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs finally happened today, and with it a deluge of motherboards sporting Intel's P55 chipset.

In this HEXUS.TalkingShop we speak to Rui Pereira, who is the business manager for Gigabyte UK. He talks us through the significance of the Intel launches and sets the scene for the launch of P55 motherboards with his trademark infectious enthusiasm.

For those who aren't totally confident they know their way around a motherboard, Pereira delves into the technological innovations behind the CPU and the chipset, and explains the significance of this when selling the associated products or building systems around.

One noteworthy opportunity for the channel is that this Gigabyte board, and probably most P55 boards, come with no integrated graphics. That means anyone buying a P55 board is going to need a graphics card too.
