It's a pen, but not as we know it

Harlow based distributor Gem has announced a new distribution partnership with US ‘smartpen' maker Livescribe.

Livescribe's flagship product, the Pulse Smartpen, has a miniature scanner in the tip, which digitally records everything you write. It also has a microphone which records audio while you write and links the two.

The company was created in 2007, first launched the Pulse Smartpen in the US at the start of 2008 and rolled it out into national retail in the middle of last year.

The distribution deal with Gem, which is considered one of the strongest UK disties for the retail sector, marks the commencement of an international strategy for Livescribe.
