Moving with the times

Microsoft's foray into the cloud computing market arrives in the UK soon, having been launched in the US last November. It will be sold through the channel and pricing has just been announced.

The products in question comprise the Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS) which, as the name implies, is Microsoft's subscription offering for business, comprised of: Exchange Online Standard, Office SharePoint Online Standard, Office Communications Online and Office Live Meeting.

The price to Microsoft partners for BPOS is £10.04 per user per month and there are discounts available for volume licensing. It's designed to be sold through the channel, as opposed to direct, and you can find out more about it here. Microsoft would only commit to a spring 2009 launch date.

Here's a table showing all the pricing. USL stands for user subscription license.
