Flash on TV
Chip giant Intel and software maker Adobe have announced they're collaborating to optimise the way Adobe Flash runs on the Intel Media Processor CE 3100 (die shot below).
Flash is used to view much of the video content on the web, including on HEXUS, while the CE 3100 is a ‘system on a chip' (SoC) that is designed to improve access to web-based video for consumer electronics devices.
The collaboration expects to "provide consumers with richer and more seamless Web-based and video viewing experiences," according to the press release.
The two companies are also collaborating to optimise how AIR - an Adobe platform that allows the development of wed-based applications that can also be installed on the desktop - works with the CE 3100. The Flash collaboration is expected to bear fruit by the middle of this year.
