Emilio Ghilardi, the current EMEA boss and soon to be chief sales officer for AMD, has announced a major reorganisation of the EMEA sales and marketing organisation to all AMD EMEA employees.

The new set up, which will be led by new guy Alberto Bozzo when he arrives from HP in the new year, is based around three core "go-to-market" sales divisions concerned with the channel, multinational accounts and retail respectively. The marketing division will assist all three of these sales divisions.

As exclusively revealed by HEXUS.channel today, EMEA graphics head Darren Grasby is being promoted to head up the channel division, with the new job title of director of channel sales and regional OEMs.

Within Grasby's remit are the master distributors, Radeon authorised partners and local (as opposed to multinational) OEMs. He is also keeping his discrete graphics sales role and his remit is to increase AMD's share of the total distribution market for CPUs and GPUs.

The multinational division is headed up by Gerhard Zehethofer, who will also take charge of commercial sales.
