ShareSpace is a new network attached storage (NAS) product from hard drive specialist Western Digital. It is targeted at the small business market but WD reckons some home users might want one too.

The four bay systems come with up to 4TB storage capacity and employ Gigabit Ethernet networking. ShareSpace represents WD's first foray into the SMB NAS market.

"With the WD ShareSpace storage system, small offices and home network users can experience the same centralised storage and data protection often found only in big corporate data centres," said Jim Welsh, VP and GM of WD's branded products and consumer electronics groups.
