Press release

BRUSSELS (Belgium), July 14th, 2008 – Ingram Micro Europe, the European division of Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, announced it will begin to recover the full cost of shipping products to its customers.

Past practice has seen Ingram Micro absorb significant annual freight costs for shipping the products it distributes to its customers. Rapidly rising fuel costs mean that this practice can no longer be continued. Accordingly, Ingram Micro EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) will from now on recover the full cost of freight by means of a freight charge on all customer orders.

Fuel prices are at record levels and continue to affect both consumers and businesses alike. Airlines, trucking companies and even small delivery companies are feeling the impact of these rising costs. Ingram Micro is no exception. Rising fuel costs have had a substantial impact on the cost of providing “next day delivery” of the most sought after IT products in Europe. Despite these rising transport costs, Ingram Micro EMEA remains committed to ensuring that its customers’ shipments reach their destinations in a timely and efficient manner.

IT distribution plays a valuable role linking IT equipment manufacturers and software developers to their end customers. Through its unique combination of integrated logistics and financing capabilities Ingram Micro is the best way to get technology from those who make it to those who use it.

In the past, the IT distribution sector in Europe has shouldered considerable freight costs on behalf of resellers and ultimately end customers. Ingram Micro is no exception.

“As the market leader, Ingram Micro EMEA will tackle the difficult issue of freight costs to ensure our future success and sustainability,” states Jay Forbes, EVP & President Ingram Micro EMEA. “Rapidly rising costs, especially energy costs, require that we address the matter of shipping costs related to our products. Accordingly, Ingram Micro EMEA will implement policies and processes to recover the full cost of shipping products to our customers. We understand this decision will be challenging for our customers, and will work with them to make the transition as smooth as possible. ”
