Hybrid theory

Taiwan-based mainboard vendor Biostar is displaying a decent array of 'hybrid graphics' boards at CeBIT.

Pictured here is its RS780G-based board, which is due to launch tomorrow.

Right next to it is not one, nor two, but three Nforce 750 SLI options. Here we can see them proudly displayed by NVIDIA chipset product manager David Ragones, who is not to be confused with actor Tom Noonan, who played serial killer Francis Dollarhyde - the Tooth Fairy - in the 1986 film Manhunter.

Noonan

Ragones

Ragones was quick to point out that with these three boards, NVIDIA has a top-to-bottom offering. It will be interesting to see, however, what kind of availability there is in the near future of AMD's and NVIDIA's respective 'hybrid graphics' chipsets.
