It’s amazing what a force for creativity boredom can be. This is surely what drove the sober, serious journalists at US grown-up’s mag Forbes to publish a click-and-learn map of the US-of-A, focusing entirely on the Seven Deadly Sins of biblical fame.
According to proverbs 6:16-19 in the King James Version of the bible “These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him.” They are: lust, gluttony, avarice, sloth, wrath, envy and pride.
Forbes has shoehorned some of its demographic data into these categories and used them to identify which US major cities are the naughtiest.
So, for example, avarice corresponds to the 10 U.S. cities that have the most individual fortunes per capita, while pride features those conurbations that most frequent plastic surgeons and lust, those that spend the most on contraception.
By this debatable technique, Denver is found to be the most lustful city in America. A quick click on Denver reveals that it buys almost twice as many contraceptives as the average city, per capita, with its women particularly voracious consumers of prophylactics.
