Distributor Enta, traditionally associated with PC components and Microsoft OEM products, is diversifying into accessories by partnering with Targus, a leader in the corporate notebook carry-case market.

"The Targus product and brand is a respected and familiar name within the channel and with Enta's renowned enthusiasm and drive in distribution this partnership is long overdue," said Jon Atherton, group VP at Enta."The management team of Targus share the same enthusiasm as ourselves to continue building their brand and their attitude in the contract negotiations and planning the business for the year was refreshing."

The Targus UK sales director, Sean O’Brien, sees this partnership as an opportunity to break into the indie channel. “We see Enta Technologies as the ideal partner to target businesses that we have not reached before such as the buying groups and independent retail businesses. I’m convinced that their flexibility and commitment to stock holding will guarantee a fruitful future for us both.”

Targus was also a prominent exhibitor at the Ingram-hosted Retail Expo show last year, not least because it gave away notebook bags to many of the retail visitors. Rumour has it that some journalists even made off with one but these are unconfirmed [cough].
